Convenience Store Construction in Central Pennsylvania

Our Services

Ground-up c-stores, fuel islands, remodels and rebrands, built around the day you reopen.

Goodridge Construction Group builds convenience stores across central Pennsylvania, ground up and as remodels and rebrands. Our leadership team has delivered c-stores design-build, meaning the site work, the building, the fuel infrastructure and the interior came in under one contract with one party answerable for the schedule.

A convenience store is a harder building than it looks. The margin is in fuel volume and inside sales, so every week the site is not open is money that does not come back, and the schedule is driven by things outside the building: tank and canopy lead times, utility connections, PennDOT access permits, environmental sign-off. A contractor who treats it as a small commercial shell will miss the critical path entirely. We scope it around the things that actually hold it up.

Ground-Up Convenience Stores

New stores on the Route 11 and 15, Route 6 and interstate corridors, where the site work is usually bigger than the building.

Ground-up construction includes:

Fuel work carries environmental and regulatory requirements that nothing else on the site does.

Fuel and canopy work:

The margin in a modern c-store is in coffee, cold boxes and the kitchen, not the fuel. Those are the areas that have to be right.

Refrigeration and food service:

Most of the c-store work in this market is not a new store. It is an existing one changing brands or catching up.

Remodels and rebrands:

C-stores live or die on how traffic gets in and out, and the township usually has opinions.

Scheduled Backward From the Day You Reopen

On a convenience store, the construction schedule is a revenue schedule. A two-week slip is not an inconvenience, it is two weeks of fuel volume and inside sales you never get back, plus staff you are paying or losing. We build these backward from the reopening date, we start the long-lead items first, and we tell you the moment a permit or a piece of refrigeration equipment threatens the date rather than the week before.
