Industrial and Warehouse Construction in Central Pennsylvania
Our Services
Warehouses, shops and light manufacturing, built on a schedule that works around production.
Goodridge Construction Group builds industrial and warehouse space across central Pennsylvania: new shells, shops, light manufacturing, loading and dock work, and conversions of existing industrial buildings.
Our leadership team has taken industrial and institutional buildings and converted them to entirely new uses, including a former school turned into professional offices and a preschool and a former hospital annex turned into apartments. That work teaches you something a ground-up contractor does not learn: how much an existing structure will actually give you, and how to find out early enough that it still changes the decision. If you are weighing a new building against reworking the one you have, we can give you a straight answer on both rather than quietly steering you toward the bigger job.
Ground-Up Warehouse and Shop Buildings
New warehouse, shop and light manufacturing buildings along the corridors where this work actually happens.
Ground-up industrial construction:
- Warehouse and distribution buildings
- Shops, maintenance buildings and equipment storage
- Light manufacturing and assembly space
- Office space built into or attached to an industrial shell
- Cold shell delivery where the tenant or owner fits out later
Pre-Engineered Metal and Clear-Span Structures
For most industrial footprints, a pre-engineered building is the right answer on cost and on schedule.
Metal and clear-span buildings:
- Pre-engineered metal building erection, with the slab and site work under one contract
- Clear-span structures where columns in the floor are not acceptable
- Insulated metal panel and conventional envelope systems
- Overhead doors, drive-in bays and man doors
- Coordination with your building supplier so the foundation is right before steel ships
Slabs, Docks and Heavy Site Work
On an industrial building, most of the cost and nearly all of the risk is below the finished floor.
Slabs, docks and site work:
- Slabs engineered for the actual loads, including rack, forklift and equipment loading
- Floor flatness where automated equipment or high racking requires it
- Loading docks, levelers, pits, ramps and truck wells
- Heavy-duty paving, truck courts and turning radius for tractor trailers
- Stormwater management, detention and erosion control on large impervious sites
Expansions and Additions to Working Plants
Most industrial work we do is adding to a building that is running three shifts.
Working around production:
- Phasing so production keeps running through the work
- Temporary walls, weather protection and dust separation between the work and the plant
- Tying a new structure into an existing building without opening it to weather
- Night and weekend work for the tie-in and shutdown steps
- Our own crews and a schedule your plant manager can plan staffing against
Industrial Park and Multi-Building Owners
If you own an industrial park or several buildings, construction is a recurring line item rather than a project.
For multi-building owners:
- Turning space between tenants on the schedule a signed lease demands
- Roof, envelope and door replacement across multiple buildings
- Subdividing or combining bays as tenant sizes change
- Paving, lighting and site maintenance across a whole park
- Budget planning across buildings so capital work can be scheduled rather than reacted to
Where We Build
Where we build:
- The Interstate 80 and Interstate 81 corridors
- Berwick, Bloomsburg, Danville and the Columbia County industrial parks
- Wilkes-Barre, Nanticoke, Pittston and Hazleton
- Milton, Sunbury, Northumberland and the Route 11 and 15 corridor
- Larger industrial projects well outside these counties
Weathertight Before the Equipment Shows Up
Industrial projects rarely fail on quality. They fail when the building is not ready for the equipment that is already on order, or when the slab turns out to be wrong for the racking going on it. We ask about the loads, the racking, the trucks and the equipment delivery dates before we price the job, because those are the things the building actually has to serve. Then we build backward from the date the equipment arrives.
Contact Goodridge Construction Group to discuss an industrial or warehouse project. We work throughout Columbia, Montour, Luzerne, Union and Northumberland counties, and farther for larger buildings.
